Coats and markings
Coat color is a custom palette, not a real-world genetics chart. Pattern groups are taken from one parent each. There is no complete official name list, so this page only names patterns that a source actually describes.
Each horse has a body color and a mane, tail, and leg color. MPH and Rainbow are named presets, and you can save your own. Changing a preset recolors horses already in the save. Documented pattern groups include tobiano, roan, appaloosa or leopard in three layers, face markings, and leg whites.
A 27 May 2026 development note described the three appaloosa layers. Naming a horse after certain Mein Pferdehof names, such as Summerrain or Baghira, applies that palette as an easter egg. I am not pasting a 38-name dump here because the point of this page is how color passes, not a nickname list.

Questions
Can I use a real coat-color chart?
The game does not use one. A chart from another horse game would invent rules.
